I don’t know about you , but i need little things scattered here and there throughout the year to look forward to and get me through some months.

    I call them memory makers.

One of my newly adopted memory makers is “May Day”.

With the arrival of Spring, May Day  is the cherry on top before Summer begins here in Southern Utah.

I celebrate it mostly for the wee ones, but find myself looking forward to it more and more each year.

Traditionally “May baskets”, were  small baskets of sweets and/or flowers, usually left anonymously on neighbors’ doorsteps.[4

The wee ones and I make cones out of pretty paper and then attach a ribbon handle.

We then fill it full of flowers out of the garden or we  purchase them if we have none.

Next we pick a few of our family or friends that could use a pick me up, and hang it on there door knob.

    We then knock and run…

If they catch you tradition says they get to Kiss You.

We made our own tradition of buying a bag of chocolate kisses and eating them until we can’t eat anymore.

Happy May Day this Thursday !
